Tradify review

Desk assessed

Tradify is a sensible first shortlist option for a UK sole trader or small trade team. UK pricing starts at £34 per user/month, and the entry plan already includes the main quote-to-payment workflow plus Xero, Sage and QuickBooks integrations. The Capterra listing showed 4.7 out of 5 from 152 reviews when checked, though those reviewers span several countries. This is a desk assessment with a narrow trial spot-check, not a hands-on test, so treat it as clearly worth trialling rather than a scored verdict. Per-user pricing suits smaller teams more than larger ones. Cancellation and module-by-module CSV exports are documented, but the exports aren't one complete backup, so plan your exit.

ServiceM8 review

Desk assessed

ServiceM8's pricing model is its verdict: every paid plan allows unlimited users (the free tier is single-user), and you pay for job volume instead, from a genuinely free 30-jobs-a-month tier to £269/month for 1,500+ jobs (ex VAT, checked 13 July 2026). For a five-person crew doing 40 jobs a month, that's £25/month against £170+ on per-user rivals. The catch is equally clear: ServiceM8 is built around Apple devices, and it's an Australian product that isn't tuned to UK tax workflows the way British-built rivals are. This is a desk assessment; we completed a trial workflow (below) but haven't run live jobs through it yet.

Everything we've checked

Every review, comparison and guide we've published, numbered in order. No filler. The list grows only as fast as the evidence does.

How we work

Evidence, labelled

Every verdict carries an evidence label saying exactly what we did (verified pricing, documentation, trial use or hands-on testing) and what we haven't done yet. We never claim testing that hasn't happened.

Named authors, dated facts

Every verdict has a real byline and a visible date checked. Prices are verified against the vendor's own UK pricing page, and re-checked when we update.

Paid never buys the verdict

Partners can pay for clearly labelled placement or a directory listing. It never changes a verdict, a rating or a recommendation. That's the rule the whole site is built on.

One verdict a week, no fluff.

New verdicts, UK price changes worth knowing about, and the odd warning about a tool to avoid. Straight to your inbox. Unsubscribe whenever you like.
